HISTORY

1995.

Nenad Šunjevarić and his partners establish company Medico Trade & Partners, which is primarily involved in import and distribution of laboratory chemicals and medical equipment.

1997.

In the process of Medico Trade & Partners’ ownership transformation, Nenad Šunjevarić founded the new company UNI-CHEM and became its sole owner and general manager. Due to very unstable economy and politics in Serbia and the region at that time, the company was mainly focused on business activities related to local and regional distribution of laboratory reagents and pharmaceutical raw materials and on accomplishment of its overall business objective to establish long-term strategic cooperation with its principals, leading multinational companies from the EU and USA.

2001.

Introduction of diagnostics in the company’s assortment. Within activities of the company’s newly established division, clinical microbiology and Immuno-cytometry systems (flow cytometry) of the world leading manufacturer, Beckton Dickinson- BD was introduced to the market of Serbia and the region.

2003.

Human medicines, OTC products and medical devices were introduced in the UNI-CHEM’s  range of offered products.

New Regulatory Affairs department was established, handling registration of the increased number of medicines and medical devices.

Licencing business cooperation with the regional pharmaceutical manufacturers was developed as well as cooperation with Hoffman la Roche company in the field of OTC and vitamins distribution.

2008.

As a result of the acquisition of the company Quadrachemicals, specialized in the marketing of laboratory reagents , the laboratory supply assortment was enriched contributing to the overall product and service quality enhancement.

2009.

Opening of the new, modern warehouse and distribution facility that complies with the requirements of the Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standard and environmental and occupational health and safety contemporary guidelines.

2010.

Based on new legislation introduced, Uni-Chem introduces the widest portfolio of raw materials for magistral, galenic and industrial manufacturing, based on the cooperation with the world’s leader in this segment, the company Fagron B.V.

Acquisition of Botanica, a company specialized in import and distribution of food supplements and OTC products.

2012.

Based on new legislation on reimbursement, Uni-Chem undertakes a major investment and business focus switch to the import and distribution of non-registered human medicines, growing the existing portfolio by more than 30 products.

2015.

Implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV, state of the art corporative enterprise resource planning application (ERP) and overall company’s hardware and software upgrade resulted in business efficacy and transparency improvement.

2020.

UNI-CHEM assortment s enriched by investment into registration and launch of a new food supplements portfolio, complying to the market demand
